Description
The ZiL-131 6×6 truck with 3,5t capacity replaced the Soviet Army’s older ZiL-157 vehicle. Serial production of the ZiL-131 began in 1966 in the Moscow Likhachov automobile factory. Those trucks were reliable and easy to service, while also having high cross-country capabilities. Some special vehicles were developed on the base of ZiL-131 and included command mobile posts, fuel bowsers, and multiple launch rocket systems.
