Tamiya welcomes an updated re-issue of Item 12032 1/12 Honda RA273 (w/Photo-Etched Parts) (sold in 2015) with updated instruction manual (tyre engravings painting instruction added), packaging and a newly-added A3 size double-sided pamphlet with photos of the full-size car. Honda’s Formula 1 history began when the company decided to take the bold step of creating their own race car, developing their own engine, and entering a factory team in the 1964 season. New regulations specifying 3-litre engines in 1966 meant Honda had to design a new machine, the RA273. John Surtees replaced Richie Ginther as Honda’s top driver in 1967, and an improved machine showed promise by taking 3rd place at the South African Grand Prix.
